Make your home your own with personal touches. As you age, you might discover that the home you are in isn’t the home you expected to grow old in. If you have moved to a new home, use special things around your living space that make you feel welcome and comfortable.

In order to get true fulfillment out of life you need to build positive relationships with your friends. The friendship will give your life energy, motivation and the love you need to make it through any day. You will never be too old to find new friends. If you feel lonely, go meet some new people and build friendships that will enable you to have a wonderful long life.

Make sure to get enough sleep daily. You need to shoot for anywhere between seven and nine hours of sleep each day. Sleep deprivation can be tied to many diseases, especially heart ailments and depression.

Taking the time to enjoy life day by day is the key to happiness. Set goals for yourself and take time to savor and reflect on your accomplishments.

As you start getting older, it is important that you properly care for your eyes. It is natural to experience decreased visual acuity as you age, but by seeing an eye doctor on a regular basis, you can prevent any serious problems.

Stay away from extreme environmental conditions. Being out for a long time when it’s too sunny or too cold is not good for your skin. Not only can this lead to premature getting older, but it can also cause skin cancer or other skin problems.

When consumed in excess amounts, sugar has a negative effect on all aspects of our health, but most importantly, it can reduce lifespan. Sugar is known to cause a number of health problems, including diabetes, and it can shorten your lifespan as well as speed up the getting older process. Research shows that sugar reduces the lifespan of any animal on earth by a significant amount.
