Juicing Is The Way To Go

For decades, trained dietitians and nutritionists have relentlessly strived to inform the public of the benefits of incorporating fresh fruit and vegetable juices into their daily diet. Dark leafy greens benefit from the addition of a cucumber when juicing. Many dark, leafy greens taste very strong when raw. A bit of cucumber can add a light refreshing taste that will improve the flavor of the leafy greens. It also contains many essential nutrients, especially when the skin of the cucumber is left intact.

If you are juicing apples, find the sweetest, ripest apples possible. It is okay to get apples that are bruised, just make sure you cut them out. Choose apples like Gala, Fuji, Rome, and Red Delicious ones that have a yummy, sweet taste so you can get a nice and rich tasting flavor.

When you drink juice for health, try using leafy greens like chard, broccoli, spinach, kale, parsley and more. Strive to prepare juices that are composed of 50 to 70 percent greens, and use the remaining percentage to flavor the juice with other vegetables or fruits. Fruit juices may taste sweeter, but compared to green veggies, they come at a steep price in sugar and calories, meaning they’re not as healthy.

Savor your juice, and drink slowly. Enjoy the flavors present in each glass. Allow your saliva to mix with the juice, and start the process of digestion.

Consider you juice to be a whole meal. Once you are more experienced and know how much produce you’ll need for a glass of juice, it will be easier to do. By drinking your juice by itself, your stomach will be able to absorb the nutrients quicker.
